Sidiq Ali is the CEO of SUA Consultancy. With over 31 years of experience, Sidiq is a dedicated professional who has spent his career supporting children, families, and communities. He is registered as an Independent Social Worker with Social Work England and currently serves as a Fostering Independent Reviewing Officer for Bradford Children and Families Trust. Additionally, he acts as a Children’s Advocate and Education Advisor for Unity Foster Care Ltd. Sidiq is also an Advisor and the Vice Chair of the Educational Advisory Board at New College Bradford (a sixth form college within the New Collaborative Learning Trust).
Sidiq also brings his expertise to professional interpreting, taking on assignments with reputable agencies such as Capita and the Big Word when time allows. His extensive background includes roles as an Educational Welfare Officer, Social Work Practice Development Manager, Area Manager, Fostering Supervising Social Worker, and Leaving Care Social Worker.
Sidiq’s commitment to supporting and advocating for children and families is at the heart of his work with SUA Consultancy.
Sidiq has served on social services complaint panels as an independent panel member, as far as Ealing Council in London. From 2014 to 2019, he was an elected parent governor representative on Bradford Council's Children's Services Overview & Scrutiny Committee. Additionally, Sidiq was a Director of the Beckfoot Academy Trust, where he was a member of the Audit Committee and Trust board for six years (2013–2019). In this role, he shared responsibility for overseeing a budget of over £40 million and managing 10 academy schools.
A Social Work England registered Social Worker, Sidiq holds public liability and professional indemnity insurance. He has also been a member of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) since the year 2000.
Sidiq has been a permanent vendor to City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council since the year 2000. In January 2018 Sidiq developed SUA Supported Living, providing accommodation, support and care to Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC). Inspired by this model of care Bradford Council developed a new scheme called "Staying Close" under the Stepping Stones programme. In April 2024 this scheme has been re branded and is now called the "Settling-In" Scheme. SUA Supported Living has won a local government procurement tender to provide supported living for UASC to 3 local authorities including Bradford, Calderdale and Wakefield.
